CEMETERY COURTESY OFFICE

In the fall of 2019, the Friends of Lansing's Historic Cemeteries formed a historic public/private partnership with the City of Lansing, creating the volunteer staffed Cemetery Courtesy Office.

The City Cemetery Office moved to the Foster Community Center at 200 N. Foster Ave. in Lansing. If you are interested in purchasing a grave or columbarium site, please contact them at Parks and Recreation Cemetery Services.

At the Cemetery Courtesy Office, our volunteers are available to help people find grave and columbarium sites and to consider sites for purchase. They can help with genealogical and historical research. They keep records and search records for requested information. They serve as ambassadors for the three city-owned cemeteries: Evergreen, Mt. Hope, and North.

The Cemetery Courtesy Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. It is closed on city holidays.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Cemetery Courtesy Office, please contact Loretta S. Stanaway, Cemetery Courtesy Office Supervisor.
